Available Effective Treatments for Panic Disorder and Agraphobia and Satisfaction With Treatment

Illustrates (in Study I) the use of the Mann-Whitney U-test to make pairwise comparisons among 6 therapies. Because several comparisons were made, the Bonferroni correction was used.

The Physiological and Psychological Effects of Compassion and Anger

In this study, 2 nonparametric tests were used: Friedman's two-way analysis of variance and the Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-ranks test. The Wilcoxon test was used to make post-hoc pairwise comparisons when the Friedman test yielded a significant finding. See (1) the last sentence of the section entitled "Statistical Analysis" and (2) the second paragraph of the section (in "Results") entitled "Effect of Emotional States on S-IgA Concentration."

Experience of Non-Fatal Overdose Among Heroine Users in Adelaide, Australia

In this study, the Mann-Whitney U-test was used 4 times to compare 2 groups of drug users. Each of these analyses dealt with a different dependent variable. (See the third and fifth paragraphs of the "Results" section of the article."
