Corrections (Ch. 8)

Before my book was published, I was given a chance to examine page proofs in order to catch and correct mistakes. Although I was very serious about this task and tried to make my book completely free of errors, a few mistakes slipped through the screening process and ended up in print. Please make the following correction inside Chapter 8:

Place: The line of text immediately above Excerpts 8.1-8.2
Correction: change "this excerpt's second sentence" to "these excerpts"

Place: Page 182, the first line of the second paragraph of text
Correction: The number at the end of this line should be 1.1480 (rather than 1.480)

Place: The first line of text on page 188
Correction: In the alternative hypothesis, the symbol between mu and 100 should be ">" rather than "="

NOTE: The 2nd and 3rd of these errors in the text were first brought to my attention by Hongwei Yang.
